To Understand The Whole Production Process from Ordering to Delivery
For entrepreneurs, taking the plunge into denim can be both exciting and complex. Jeans are a complex product, both technically and stylistically complex. However, by working with the right production partner, you can manage this process and establish your brand on a solid foundation.
This guide is designed for new entrepreneurs looking to launch their first denim collection.
🧵 1. Clarify Your Idea: Target Audience and Product Type
The first step to a successful denim collection is identifying styles that reflect your target audience and suit them.
• High-waisted flared jeans for athletic women?
• Relaxed fit for young men?
• A brand that works with minimalist, sustainable fabrics?
Clarify what you'll be providing, because the manufacturer is the one who will transform this perspective.

🧵 2. Technical Documentation: Making the Design Ready for Production
If you have designs, you need to convert them into a technical drawing (tech pack). This document includes:
• Pattern information (fit: mom, skinny, loose, etc.)
• Measurements (waist, hip, crotch, knee, leg, etc.)
• Seam details, pocket shapes, button and rivet placement
• Fabric type and wash effect
If you don't have a technical drawing, a standard manufacturer can provide the required support.

🧵 3. Prototyping: Sample Production
The first production step is the production of a sample (prototype). This step allows you to test how your design will look. Here:
• Desired washing color shade and affects are applied
• Fit tests are conducted (fit, stretch, etc.)
• Deformation is checked after washing
• Adjustments are made on the live model at the supplier’s studio.
For new entrepreneurs, a comprehensive perspective on both design and communication with the manufacturer is critical at this stage.
🧵 4. Production Planning and Quantity

Entrepreneurs often want to start with low-volume production. At this point:
• A Minimum Order Quantity (Minimum Order Quantity) should be asked. Example: 200-300 pieces per style.
• Quantity requirements should be established for each size and model.
• Delivery time, quality control, and details should be clarified with the manufacturer.

Factories like us that produce a variety of products support small-volume production for new brands. But for the optimal costing and the speed of production, the order shoud be 200 pieces at least. It has a few reasons. Biggest one is that the thumbler machines are big so they require minimum 200 pieces for cost effectiveness during washing process. The more material you buy is the less cost for fixed cost such as fabric, button mold, leather patch, hang tag and so on. Otherwise the cost will be higher for small batches.
🧵 5. Distribution, Quality, and Labeling
After production begins, the distribution process begins. Things that the entrepreneurs should consider at this stage:
• Have the products passed quality control?
• Have labeling and brand logos been added?
• Is the packaging suitable for your sales channel? (e-commerce boxes, doors, etc.)
Paying attention to detail adds value to your brand.

🚀 Conclusion: Your Manufacturer Partner Determines Your Success
Every step is important when establishing a new denim brand, but choosing a manufacturer is the cornerstone of this process. The right manufacturer:
• Listens to your ideas
• Provides technical guidance
• Shows care even with small orders
• Offers flexible solutions that don't hinder your growth
